Yazman is the largest and fastest growing tehsil of Bahawalpur District in Southern Punjab, named after ‘Yazman’ a city in the Balkh region of Syria. Yazman is a nearly eight-decade-old city that was established to meet the need for an administrative unit in the Cholistan region. Yazman is also known as the gateway to Cholistan whose population consists of about seven lakh people. As there was no higher education institution for women in the area, the girls used to travel 32 km away to Bahawalpur for education.

Therefore, in view of equipping women with a fine education, on 21 September 2004, the only higher education institution of the region, Government Associate College for Women, Yazman was established. The college was started in the old building of Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Yazman. District Nazim Bahawalpur Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema inaugurated the college with his blessed hand. As a result of your special efforts, the construction of the present building of the college, which covers an area of 19 acres, took place at a cost of Rs.4 Crores.

This institution is one of the best educational institutions in the Bahawalpur Division, which is engaged in the education and training of women in the region with intermediate and associate degree programs and excellent educational facilities.
